Save Elmwood Golf Course: Pause the Closure

We call on SRUC to pause the proposed closure of Elmwood Golf Course and suspend the 6 November 2026 deadline for members to indicate whether they can take over its operation. Members and the wider community need sufficient time, meaningful consultation and clear financial information to evaluate credible alternatives. SRUC should explain the financial basis for its reported losses, including the allocation of costs, and reconcile its current position with statements about improved golf activity performance in its 2025 subsidiary reporting. We ask Willie Rennie MSP, as chair of the Elmwood Project Group, to press for a pause, transparent records and proper consideration of the golf course alongside the wider educational and community future of Elmwood. We ask Fife Council to engage constructively within its responsibilities. We seek a fair process, proper information and a genuine opportunity to secure the course before irreversible decisions are made.
